Migrating to WordPress!

I have decided for ease of editing and use for myself to Migrate all of the content off my devblog located at http://andrewlloydgd.com/Devblog.php and to make a WordPress, as the blog editor on my current host is sub-standard, editing is very finicky for pictures, text etc and I would prefer to have it managed extrernaly by WordPress. I will eventually (hopefully) be deleting that blog page and re-creating it to host the changes I do to it on here to save me time and stress not to mention make it easier to link everything up with Twitter and Linkedin. I will be posting some more progress on the ReversE game on here very soon.

Summer, Time off and Results!

After a lengthy period of time after my last update, the SoundScape game was exhibitioned at Creative Spark on June 1st, to which it met some positive feedback. I have recieved a first class honours from my degree which is fantastic and a testament to the hard work I put into it this year! I am currently on the hunt for a job but in the mean time am in the planning stages of new projects as well as assessing where SoundScape took me and seeing what move or potential expansion I can do to it. I plan to use some of the findings from it to work on a new project in the interim while I am jobless! I am also planning a fair few foley projects to add to my portfolio in my quest to gain some type of employment or to showcase my talent! I will be making updates to the site in dribs and drabs as this is a very turbulent period!

Feasibility Report Completed!

Finally finished the feasibility report for the Creative Practise Project and handed that in! Hopefully the plans go through okay and I can get the full support of audio project supervisors in order to start with the audio tutorials I need! I have been working in 3DS max a little bit to start creating assets for the video compositing work I have to do by the end of this year. I have had a refresher tutorial on video compositing looking at chroma keying and refreshing my mind on the basics inside After Effects. I have created a short fun video as a result of that entitled “Psychadellic Cat is Not Amused!” Now I need to start looking for more assets for the video project and start level designing  and drawing up questionnaires for my research for the final project.

Beginnings of the final project

I have started work on my audio game  by building a prototype in Unity I have currently learnt how to map controls, make a first person control system where the left and the right rotate and the forward controls for footsteps can be mapped to two buttons.
I have learnt from tutorials how to script and use triggers for footsteps and to activate audio cues.
I need to learn how to script simple AI that a player can interact with to take health off the enemy/player and be destroyed.
Currently the project is meeting schedule. The audio recordings will need to be planned in the coming week as well as the level design.
